| The origin of Stella Artois goes back at least to the XIVth century, when, according to a municipal document dated 1366, a factory called Gives Hoorn already paid taxes to the city to be able to produce beer. This city is the Belgian city of Lovaina, and it had all the requirements to become one of the first cities to make beer, thanks to its good economic situation, its location in an agricultural area and its easy access to water. |
